Ankara: All Palestinian groups should come together and reconcile without delay, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan asserted during a meeting with Fatah Central Committee Secretary General Jibril al-Rajoub in Ankara. The Turkish Foreign Ministry shared the details of the meeting on X, emphasizing the need for unity among Palestinians.

According to Anadolu Agency, Fidan stressed that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas should lead the reconciliation process. He highlighted the importance of unified action among Palestinians against Israel's expansionist policies. The ongoing conflict has severely impacted Gaza, with the death toll reaching 48,365 since the war began in October 2023.

A ceasefire agreement has been in place in Gaza since January 19, aiming to halt the Israeli war that caused significant destruction and left the region in ruins. Despite the ceasefire, local authorities in Gaza have reported almost daily violations by the Israeli army, raising concerns about the stability of the truce.

The International Criminal Court has taken action against Israeli leadership, issuing arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice concerning its actions in the enclave.
