Washington: Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that there are no obstacles to communication with Trkiye, highlighting an ongoing and consistent dialogue between the two nations. Speaking at the Atlantic Council during a working visit to the US, Pashinyan underscored the regular interactions between the countries' foreign ministers.

According to Anadolu Agency, Pashinyan emphasized the active engagement between Armenia and Trkiye, noting a shared understanding of the necessary steps forward. Despite the progress, he acknowledged that some nuances in bilateral relations persist, requiring resolution to achieve concrete outcomes. "We hope that the result will come very soon," Pashinyan expressed, reiterating the unprecedented level of dialogue currently taking place between the two countries.

Since Armenia's independence in 1991, Trkiye was one of the first nations to recognize it. However, in 1993, Trkiye severed ties by closing its border following Armenia's occupation of the Azerbaijani region of Karabakh. Relations took a positive turn after the 2020 Karabakh war, which resulted in Azerbaijan regaining territory. Consequently, in December 2021, Armenia and Trkiye appointed special representatives to engage in talks aimed at normalizing relations.
