Gaza City: At least 54 more Palestinians were killed, and dozens injured in fresh Israeli strikes on Wednesday across the war-torn Gaza Strip, medics said. A medical source reported that 16 people lost their lives in Israeli shelling of a school-turned-shelter in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City. Several individuals remain trapped under the rubble, the source added.

According to Anadolu Agency, Wednesday's strike followed a deadly attack the previous day, where at least 33 people were killed and 73 others injured in an Israeli strike on a school in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. Data released by Gaza's government media office indicated that at least 234 shelters and displacement centers have been targeted by the Israeli army since the onset of its military campaign in October 2023.

Another devastating strike on a crowded market on Al-Wahda Street in Gaza City resulted in the deaths of at least 22 individuals, including several children and a journalist, a medical source confirmed. An Anadolu reporter noted that the area was filled with shops and stalls and was crowded with people at the time of the attack.

In the southern city of Khan Younis, eight individuals, including a child, were killed in a strike on a house, as reported by a medical source to Anadolu. Additionally, in the eastern part of the city, a Palestinian and his wife died after Israeli forces shelled their home in Bani Suhaila town.

In the Munasira refugee camp in eastern Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, the Israeli army killed three more Palestinians, including a child, medics reported. A separate airstrike on a house in the eastern Tel al-Zaatar neighborhood of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to several others.

Witnesses have reported that the Israeli army conducted home demolitions in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central enclave. Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli military onslaught on Gaza has claimed more than 52,600 lives, predominantly women and children.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
