Azerbaijani and Ukrainian Leaders Highlight Progress in Bilateral Relations

Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed satisfaction with the 'positive dynamics' in the development of bilateral ties during a phone call on Wednesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy initially announced on US social media platform X that the conversation involved discussions on implementing steps agreed upon during his recent visit to Azerbaijan. The focus was on enhancing bilateral relations and regional cooperation to bolster security and stability. Zelenskyy noted that they exchanged details of their contacts with partners and mapped out future steps, emphasizing the potential to strengthen their nations.

Aliyev confirmed the phone call and discussions in his own statement on X, reiterating the satisfaction with the ongoing positive development in relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

On April 25, Aliyev and Zelenskyy had met in the Azerbaijani city of Gabala. During this meeting, the two countries signed six bilateral agreements, including those on defense cooperation, as reported by Ukraine's Presidential Office.
