Manama: Bahrain stated that its air defenses successfully intercepted and destroyed two missiles and ten drones aimed at the kingdom in the past 24 hours. This incident marks the latest in a series of retaliatory actions following heightened regional tensions.
According to Anadolu Agency, the National Communications Center reported the new barrage but did not provide details regarding any injuries or damage resulting from the attack. The General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force disclosed that, since the beginning of Iranian attacks on February 28, a total of 188 missiles and 429 drones have been intercepted.
The escalation in hostilities is linked to a joint offensive by the United States and Israel on Iran, which began on February 28 and has resulted in the deaths of over 1,340 individuals, including the then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Tehran has carried out its own drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as neighboring Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military installations.
