Manama: Bahrain on early Saturday said that four citizens were injured and a number of homes were damaged by falling shrapnel following the interception of Iranian drones. 'As a result of Iranian aggression, 4 citizens sustained minor injuries and several houses in Sitra were damaged by shrapnel from the interception of Iranian drones,' a Bahraini Interior Ministry statement said. 'The Civil Defence and National Ambulance are carrying out their procedures at the site,' it added.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry had earlier announced that sirens had sounded five times since early Friday, urging residents to head to safe locations. It also reported the interception and destruction of 188 missiles and 445 drones as part of what it described as the "sinful Iranian aggression" against the kingdom since Feb. 28.

The US and Israel on Feb. 28 launched an air offensive on Iran, killing more than 1,340 people to date, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure, while disrupting global markets and aviation.
