Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Visits Pakistan Amid Regional Tensions

Ankara:Bahrain's Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani arrived in Pakistan on Wednesday for a two-day official visit.

According to Anadolu Agency, the visit underscores the close and cordial relations between Pakistan and Bahrain, highlighting a mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation. During his stay, Al Zayani and Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar are set to co-chair the third session of the Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Ministerial Commission.

This visit occurs against the backdrop of ongoing tensions in the Middle East, marked by the US-Iran conflict that began in late February with a series of attacks and retaliations. Although Washington and Tehran reached a preliminary agreement in June, facilitated by Pakistan and Qatar, to cease hostilities and initiate negotiations, the agreement's implementation has faced setbacks due to disagreements on matters such as security and navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
