Taybeh:Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot has expressed strong condemnation of an attack by masked Israeli settlers on Palestinians, diplomats, and Catholic representatives in Taybeh, located in the occupied West Bank.

Prevot highlighted the daily violence faced by Palestinians, noting that such aggressions also extend to journalists and diplomats. He emphasized that activities like harvesting olives, reporting news, or conducting diplomatic duties should not expose individuals to such risks. Prevot urged Israeli authorities to fulfill their responsibility as an occupying power by ensuring the safety of Palestinians, diplomats, and journalists, and by holding those responsible for the attacks accountable.
He called for an end to the impunity of violent settlers and stated that Belgium would continue advocating for European Union sanctions against those responsible for such violence and their supporters. Prevot also linked the attack to Israel's settlement policy, reiterating Belgium's opposition to settlement expansion and attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians from their lands, declaring that the occupation of Palestinian territory must come to an end.
