Belgium: Belgium on Thursday voiced concern over escalating Israeli settler violence in the West Bank and condemned the unauthorized entry by Israeli forces and officials into the UNRWA Kalandia Training Centre in East-Jerusalem.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Belgian Foreign Ministry issued a written statement expressing deep concern over the ongoing violence by Israeli settlers. The ministry highlighted that this violence is occurring in an environment of impunity and is being exacerbated by the policies and rhetoric of certain political actors.

The statement from Belgium also warned that the current situation is contributing to a "dangerous escalation" in the West Bank, threatening stability and peace in the region. The ministry reiterated the need for all parties involved to respect international law, emphasizing Belgium's condemnation of the unauthorized entry of Israeli forces and officials into the UNRWA Kalandia Training Centre located in East-Jerusalem.

The situation in the West Bank has been tense for weeks, with an escalation in attacks on Palestinians and their property. Palestinians, along with Israeli and international rights groups, have accused the Israeli army of protecting the occupiers and, in some instances, participating in the attacks. Since the onset of the conflict in Gaza in October 2023, incidents involving the Israeli army and settlers have increased, resulting in the deaths of over 1,182 Palestinians, injuries to approximately 13,000 individuals, and the arrest of nearly 24,000 people, based on official Palestinian figures.
