Istanbul: Besiktas GAIN men's basketball team head coach Dusan Alimpijevic emphasized that the foundation of their success is hard work, expressing satisfaction with the team's consistent progress and growing chemistry.
According to Anadolu Agency, Alimpijevic highlighted the significance of sharing the same passion and working harmoniously with the club's management and technical staff as a crucial factor in his decision to continue his career at Besiktas. He noted the club's remarkable turnaround from being on the brink of relegation two years ago to now having sold-out matches and enjoying a strong team rapport.
The Istanbul club has started the Super Lig with an unprecedented eight wins out of eight, and in the European Cup, they are tied for first place with six wins out of eight. Serbian coach Dusan Alimpijevic has been pivotal in leading the team to these achievements. He mentioned that they have won 14 out of the 16 matches played so far, underscoring the team's ambitious goals for the year and their commitment to finishing the season successfully.
The Serbian head coach also asserted that Trkiye deserved the gold medal in the 2025 European Basketball Championship (EuroBasket 2025), praising their energy, team chemistry, and overall performance. Alimpijevic pointed out that eight of Trkiye's 12 players compete in the Basketball Super League, which he sees as a significant advantage due to the substantial investments made in basketball within the country.
Additionally, Alimpijevic highlighted Alperen Sengun's performance at the European Championships, noting his toughness and talent. Alperen, who plays for the Houston Rockets in the NBA, is expected to become even more valuable in the future, according to the coach.
