ISTANBUL: Trkiye's benchmark stock index dropped by 0.3%, or 29.79 points, to open at 9,747.67 points on Monday. On Friday, the index closed down 0.62% at 9,829.19 points, with a daily trading volume of 69 billion Turkish liras ($2.03 billion). As of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), the exchange rates stood at 34.1830 for the U.S. dollar against the Turkish lira, 38.1800 for the euro, and 45.7950 for the British pound.
