Iceland: Icelandic artist Bjork is hosting a one-day outdoor festival that coincides with a total solar eclipse, set to briefly darken western Iceland on Wednesday. The event, called Echolalia, will take place at Vidadstadatun, a park in Hafnarfjordur, approximately 10 kilometers southwest of Reykjavik.

According to Anadolu Agency, this eclipse is significant as it is the first total solar eclipse visible from Icelandic territory since 1954. The path of the eclipse's shadow will extend across Greenland, Iceland, and Spain, attracting astronomers, tourists, and music enthusiasts to Iceland for a unique viewing experience.

The organizers have noted that the festival site is strategically positioned along the path of totality, ensuring that attendees experience about one minute and four seconds of complete darkness when the moon entirely obscures the sun at approximately 5:48 pm local time (1748GMT).

Bjork, known for her innovative music and performances, is set to deliver a DJ set rather than a full live concert. The festival lineup also includes Venezuelan producer Arca and Icelandic acts Ronja and Sideproject, among others. Echolalia is part of Bjork's ongoing Manakvold series, which traditionally features informal dance evenings under a full moon; however, this edition is uniquely centered around the solar eclipse.

To ensure a safe viewing experience, official solar eclipse glasses will be provided with ticket purchases.
