Tehran: Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei stated that Iran, Trkiye, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Indonesia, as major Muslim countries, have a responsibility to advance unity across the Islamic world. During a meeting in Tehran with Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Rezaei emphasized the significance of Pakistan's government, armed forces, and people as among the Islamic world's greatest assets. He praised the growing role of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir in regional developments.

According to Anadolu Agency, Rezaei highlighted Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian's special emphasis on relations with Pakistan, advocating for a substantial increase in bilateral trade. He described the Iran-Pakistan relationship as being rooted in genuine affection and shared beliefs, noting that leaders from both nations view each other as strategic depth.

The official IRNA news agency reported that Naqvi expressed gratitude towards Pezeshkian, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni for their efforts in fostering bilateral relations. Naqvi also commended the exceptional solidarity between the Iranian and Pakistani people, emphasizing that this bond should lead to deeper cooperation and tangible outcomes.

Naqvi underscored the need for greater engagement and sustained efforts between the two countries to achieve shared objectives, expressing confidence that the determination of their leaders and officials would facilitate the realization of these goals. Naqvi's visit to Tehran, which began on Tuesday, included discussions with Momeni and Araghchi on bilateral ties and regional developments.
