Beijing:China has commenced an anti-dumping investigation into imports from the European Union of p-nitrotoluene, a chemical compound primarily used in dyes and pesticides.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Chinese Commerce Ministry initiated this investigation following a request from the domestic industry. The ministry's spokesperson indicated that preliminary evidence from the applicants shows a high volume of p-nitrotoluene imports from the EU between 2022 and 2025, with a price decline of nearly 60% during this period.
The spokesperson noted that these imported goods have adversely affected China's local production and operations. The application for the investigation complies with Chinese law and World Trade Organization regulations regarding anti-dumping measures.
The spokesperson further stated that the investigation would be conducted in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, ensuring the rights of all interested parties are fully protected.
