According to Anadolu Agency, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi communicated with Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty via phone, expressing opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians. He highlighted that Gaza is an integral part of Palestinian territory and stressed that its future should be determined by the Palestinian people. The conversation took place amidst a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, following a conflict that resulted in over 48,300 casualties, predominantly affecting women and children, and leaving significant destruction in its wake.

The International Criminal Court has taken significant steps, issuing arrest warrants in November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Furthermore, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice regarding its military actions in the enclave.

Wang Yi emphasized the importance of post-war governance in Gaza aligning with "Palestinians governing Palestine."
