Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping has emphasized the necessity of constructing a 'unified national market' and exercising power in a 'well-regulated' manner to combat corruption as the Communist Party of China (CPC) marked its 104th foundation day.

According to Anadolu Agency, Xi Jinping addressed the Central Commission for Financial and Economic Affairs, highlighting the importance of promoting high-quality development, particularly in the marine economy. Xi, who holds the positions of general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, stressed the significance of building a unified national market for creating a new development pattern and enhancing high-quality growth.

In his address in Beijing, Xi called for enhanced coordination and cooperation to generate synergy in related endeavors. A day prior, he spoke to the 24-member Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, emphasizing the need for rigorous Party self-governance and good conduct.

The Political Bureau, as the highest decision-making body in China, plays a crucial role in the governance of the world's second-largest economy and the second most populous country. Xi urged the party's leading officials, particularly senior cadres, to lead by example in self-reform efforts.

Concerning anti-corruption measures, Xi emphasized the importance of well-regulated power and resolute efforts to address disciplinary and legal violations. He advocated for turning strict requirements into concrete actions, enabling strict rules to demonstrate their effectiveness and sending a clear signal of unwavering strictness and zero tolerance within the party. Under Xi's leadership, China has witnessed the removal of hundreds of officials and CPC members, including high-ranking ministers and PLA generals, due to corruption.
