Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad to 'honor martyrs' and injured Iranians during a recent conflict with Israel, Radio Pakistan reported. Sharif expressed his deepest condolences to the people and Government of Iran, reaffirming Pakistan's sympathy and solidarity with Iran during this difficult time.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Pakistani prime minister paid rich tributes to the resilience and courage of the Iranian nation, offering prayers for those who had embraced martyrdom. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan's consistent and continued support for Iran, extending good wishes and respects to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatullah Ali Khamenei and President Massoud Pezeshkian.

The conflict between Israel and Iran erupted on June 13, when Tel Aviv launched airstrikes on Iranian military, nuclear, and civilian sites, killing at least 935 people and leaving 5,332 others injured, according to the Iranian Health Ministry.

Tehran responded with retaliatory missile and drone strikes, which resulted in the deaths of at least 29 people and injured more than 3,400, based on figures released by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

In an escalation of the conflict, the US bombed Iran's Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities.
