Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Stella Kyriakides is visiting the Institute of Oncology of Ljubljana during an official visit to the capital of Slovenia on Friday, which focuses on cooperation on key priorities in the area of health and food safety.
According to an official statement, the Commissioner is visiting the Institute alongside Slovenian Minister for Health Danijel Bešic Loredan, with the visit focusing on Slovenia's approach to cancer research, prevention, early detection, screening, treatment and care.
In a meeting with the Slovenian Minister, Kyriakides was due to discuss shared objectives on a number of priority Health Union files, including Europe's Beating Cancer Plan, the reform of the EU pharmaceutical legislation, the upcoming mental health initiative and healthcare investments linked to Slovenia's Recovery and Resilience Plan.
Commissioner Kyriakides was set to also meet with Minister of Agriculture Irena Šinko to discuss key priorities relating to the EU Farm to Fork Strategy.
