Herat: A deadly road accident on the Herat-Islam Qala highway involving a bus, a cargo truck, and a motorcycle has resulted in the deaths of dozens of migrants who had been deported from Iran, officials reported late Tuesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the tragic incident occurred when a large bus carrying migrants collided with a motorcycle and a Mazda truck in western Herat province. The information and culture director of the province, Ahmadullah Muttaqi, shared details of the accident on the US social media platform X, highlighting the severity of the crash.

Sources in Herat informed TOLOnews that following the collision, the bus, which was transporting deportees from the Islam Qala border to Kabul, caught fire. This disastrous event has yet to be addressed publicly by officials in Herat through an official statement.
