Turkish Foreign Minister Engages in Dialogue with French Counterpart on Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Beirut: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot discussed the outcomes of recent meetings in Alaska and Washington, focusing on efforts to end the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministers' phone conversation highlighted the advanced stage of peace efforts following a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. This was followed by discussions in Washington involving Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and European leaders.

The peace negotiations have encountered significant challenges, notably concerning potential land swaps and security guarantees for Ukraine. These issues remain central to the ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the conflict.
