Ankara: Trkiye's annual inflation rate is expected to ease to 31.52% in August, according to an Anadolu survey released Monday. The survey, which gathered input from 20 economists, indicated that the consumer price index (CPI) is forecasted to rise by 1.86% month-on-month in August.

According to Anadolu Agency, the economists' estimates for monthly inflation varied, with predictions ranging from 1.25% to 2.10%. Based on the survey's average monthly forecast, Trkiye's annual inflation rate is projected to decline slightly from 31.75% in July to 31.52% in August.

The survey also revealed that economists have projected an average year-end inflation forecast for 2026 at 29.49%. In July, consumer prices had risen by 1.78% month-on-month.

The Turkish Statistical Institute is scheduled to release the official inflation figures for August on Thursday, Sept. 3.
