Emirates to End Flights from Algeria by February 2027 as Algiers Ends Air Pact

Dubai: Emirates announced that its last scheduled flight from Algeria will be on February 3, 2027, following Algiers' decision to terminate the air services agreement between the two nations. Emirates assured that operations will continue as usual until that date.

According to Anadolu Agency, the airline stated that flights between the two countries are currently operating according to approved schedules, and there is no immediate impact on services. Customers are advised to proceed with their travel plans as planned. Emirates committed to complying with any directives from relevant authorities and promised to keep all stakeholders informed of any changes.

The last flight currently listed, EK757, will depart from Algeria on February 3, 2027. Emirates expressed regret for any inconvenience this may cause and encouraged affected passengers to explore alternative arrangements through their booking agents.

The General Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that there is no immediate impact on flights, despite Algeria's decision to cancel the bilateral air services agreement. The authority received formal notification from Algeria and noted that operations will continue during the notice period, as outlined in international agreements.

According to Algeria's state news agency APS, the air services agreement in question was signed in Abu Dhabi on May 13, 2013, and ratified by presidential decree on December 30, 2014. The reasons behind Algeria's decision to terminate the agreement remain undisclosed. Under the agreement, either party must notify the other of termination through diplomatic channels and inform the secretary-general of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
