Sarajevo: The EU foreign policy chief stated on Tuesday that the bloc will not tolerate any threats to Bosnia and Herzegovina's sovereignty and territorial integrity amidst separatist actions by the Bosnian Serb leadership. "Any attempts to break up the country are unacceptable," Kaja Kallas declared at a news conference in Sarajevo.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kallas emphasized that the leadership of Republika Srpska is undermining Bosnia and Herzegovina's constitutional and legal order, posing a threat to the fundamental freedom of all citizens. She highlighted that EUFOR-Althea in Sarajevo, an international peace mission, is actively supporting security in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Kallas pointed out that the EU's decision in March to increase the number of EUFOR Althea troops by hundreds sends a clear message of the EU's firm commitment to the region's stability and Bosnia and Herzegovina's security. She urged political leaders to work collaboratively to tackle challenges, warning that "inflammatory rhetoric and divisive actions are dangerous" and contradict the commitments Bosnia and Herzegovina has undertaken on its path towards EU membership.

Kallas concluded by asserting that the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina deserve stability and prosperity, with the EU remaining their most stable, reliable, and predictable partner. She noted that progress on the EU path is the strongest assurance of prosperity and stability for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
