Zurich: FIFA has announced the launch of a $50 million legacy fund designed to support social programs across the globe. This initiative, developed in collaboration with Qatar, aims to create a significant social impact in various regions worldwide for the first time.
According to Anadolu Agency, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Legacy Fund is heralded as a landmark project that builds on the sustainability achievements of the tournament. FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized the organization’s commitment to expanding the reach and impact of legacy funds by addressing essential priorities such as refugee assistance, occupational health, education, and football development.
FIFA stated in a formal declaration that, in partnership with international organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO), World Trade Organization (WTO), and UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, the initiative intends to extend the legacy of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 beyond the realm of football.
