Beijing: Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo arrived in China on Sunday for a four-day visit.

According to Anadolu Agency, he was welcomed by Chinese officials upon his arrival at Beijing International Airport.

During his visit, Orpo is scheduled to meet with President Xi Jinping. He will also hold talks with Premier Li Qiang and top Chinese lawmaker Zhao Leji. The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation between Finland and China.

Finland and China established diplomatic relations in the early 1950s, laying the foundation for a robust partnership. The trade volume between the two nations exceeded $8 billion in 2025, and two-way investment surpassed $23 billion. According to CGTN, these figures underscore the significance of economic collaboration in the bilateral relationship.
