Fire Breaks Out on French Aircraft Carrier Charles de Gaulle

Toulon:A fire erupted aboard the French nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle at the Toulon naval base, as announced by the French Navy on Monday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the blaze was extinguished several hours after it began in the morning. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and the navy confirmed that the vessel's nuclear facilities were not affected.

Initial findings suggest that the fire might have been caused by cutting work involving a blowtorch. The navy has stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause.

The Charles de Gaulle has been docked in the Toulon roadstead for a 'technical stop' since late August and is expected to remain there until early December.
