Former Iranian President Ahmadinejad is Alive: Adviser

Tehran: Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is alive and unharmed as joint US-Israeli attacks target Iran's senior leadership and military infrastructure, a close aide told Anadolu on Sunday. 'I am in touch with him. All is good,' said the adviser, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

According to Anadolu Agency, a building related to Ahmadinejad's security detail was struck. Three of his bodyguards, who were members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), have been killed. The source clarified that Ahmadinejad's residence, which is located 100 meters away from the targeted building, remained unaffected and was not targeted in the attack.

Earlier reports had suggested that Ahmadinejad, who served as Iranian president from 2005 until 2013, was killed in an Israeli-US airstrike.
