Hebron: Four Palestinians, including two women and a girl, were injured Thursday by Israeli army fire and an Israeli occupier attack in the occupied West Bank.
According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli forces raided the town of Al-Karmil, south of Hebron, deploying troops in its streets and storming homes, with some being turned into military posts. Live fire was opened on a vehicle carrying several women, resulting in injuries of varying degrees to two women and a girl.
In another incident within the Hebron governorate, Israeli military vehicles demolished a house in the village of Karma, south of Dura, although the reason for the demolition remains unclear. Israeli forces also arrested a young Palestinian man after raiding his family home in Al-Rashaydeh village, east of Bethlehem, and conducted raids in various other towns and villages without further arrests.
In the Qalqilya governorate, Israeli forces arrested two Palestinians following raids on their homes. The town of Tammun was also raided, and several homes belonging to families of former prisoners were searched. Meanwhile, Israeli occupiers increased their activities in Bethlehem governorate, establishing an illegal settlement outpost in the Ash Gharab area east of Beit Sahour, raising Israeli flags along a road under military protection.
A later development saw one person injured during an Israeli occupier attack on vehicles with stones on the main road in Kisan. Ziad Saeed Ghazal suffered bruises from a stone hit, and other vehicles were damaged.
In the northern occupied West Bank, Wafa reported that Israeli forces converted a Palestinian home in Awarta into a military post, forcing the family to leave temporarily. Additionally, several Palestinians experienced suffocation from tear gas during an Israeli army raid in Al-Lubban Ash-Sharqiya village.
In occupied East Jerusalem, the Jerusalem Governorate reported that Israeli forces raided the Ras Khamis neighborhood in the Shuafat refugee camp, storming homes and questioning residents. Administrative detention orders have been issued against 29 Palestinians, allowing detention without charge or trial based on 'secret evidence.'
Movement restrictions have tightened in Jerusalem, with special permits now required for residents of certain neighborhoods and villages. Some Palestinians have been barred from reaching their homes due to a lack of permits or security bans. Magnetic cards introduced last year have complicated access for those with security restrictions.
The escalation in military operations and settlement activities follows the start of Israel's genocide in Gaza on October 8, 2023, with increased restrictions on Palestinian movement and continued attacks.
