Paris: France delivered 80 tons of food aid to Gaza on Monday, Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said, noting that the humanitarian situation in the enclave remains difficult despite a ceasefire.

According to Anadolu Agency, Barrot highlighted the ongoing challenges in delivering aid to the region. He revealed that while France successfully delivered 80 tons of food, a further 320 tons are still pending delivery. Barrot emphasized the need for unobstructed access for humanitarian assistance to reach civilians in need.

'The aid must be allowed to reach civilian populations without hindrance, alongside whom we remain mobilized,' Barrot stated. Despite a ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10, 2025, and was intended to ease tensions, living conditions in Gaza have not seen significant improvement. Challenges persist as Israel continues to obstruct the entry of aid shipments and shelter materials, such as tents and mobile homes.

The situation in Gaza has been dire following Israel's military campaign that began on October 8, 2023. The campaign resulted in the deaths of over 72,000 Palestinians, injuries to more than 171,000 others, and severe damage to civilian infrastructure.
