Paris:France has issued an orange alert for 15 departments in the western and northern regions as Storm Austen approaches, with winds predicted to reach 140 kilometers per hour (87 miles per hour).

According to Anadolu Agency – English, the French weather agency, Meteo-France, has warned that the storm is set to significantly impact the Atlantic coast.

Departments including Loire-Atlantique, Nord, Pas-de-Calais, Somme, Yvelines, Finistere, and Val-d'Oise have been placed under the alert.

Strong winds are expected to spread inland over the weekend, impacting the Ile-de-France region, which encompasses Paris. The storm is also anticipated to bring heavy rainfall, particularly affecting Brittany and Normandy.
