Paris: French Commerce Minister Serge Papin announced on Wednesday that the government will file a complaint against two e-commerce platforms over the sale of sex dolls. Papin stated that the complaints will be directed towards AliExpress and Joom, as they are selling "pedopornographic dolls."

According to Anadolu Agency, Papin revealed that in mid-November, the government had already submitted reports to the judiciary against these two platforms, along with eBay, Temu, and Wish, for selling illegal products. The French authorities are taking a firm stance against the online sale of such items.

In a related development, a hearing is underway at the Paris Judicial Court regarding the possible suspension of the Asian platform Shein. The government referred Shein to the courts in early November for selling childlike sexualized dolls and banned weapons. The French government is considering requesting a suspension of at least three months to address these concerns.

Papin emphasized the need to "put an end to the digital Wild West." He highlighted the importance of ensuring that any products reintroduced to the market comply with consumer standards. Furthermore, he called for a European-level approach to tackle this issue comprehensively.
