Turkish Stock Exchange Ends Midweek with Gains

Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index closed on Wednesday at 14,610.92 points, marking an increase of 0.95% from the previous day's close. Starting the day at 14,522.55, the BIST 100 index rose by 137.50 points from its close on Tuesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the index experienced a daily low of 14,515.48 and reached a daily high of 14,730.20. Throughout the trading day, 68 indexes lost value, while 28 showed an upward trend. The daily transaction volume reached 220 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $4.57 billion, and the overall value of the index stood at 14.19 trillion liras, approximately $295.7 billion.

As of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), the USD/TRY exchange rate was 48.1175, the euro/lira exchange rate was 56.1010, and the British pound traded at 65.4400. Gold was trading at $4,591.50 per ounce, while Brent crude oil futures were priced at $88.07.
