London:FTSE Russell, a division of the London Stock Exchange, has decided to maintain Turkey's 'Advanced Emerging Market' status without placing the country on its watch list.
According to Anadolu Agency, FTSE Russell, known for creating and managing indexes used in global financial markets, released its 'FTSE Classification of Equity Markets - FTSE Equity Country Classification September 2026 Annual Announcement' on Tuesday.
The announcement detailed that following the postponement of certain index changes for Turkey during the September 2026 index review, FTSE Russell is continuing its engagement with Borsa Istanbul and the Capital Markets Board of Turkey (CMB). This collaboration focuses on reviewing the feasibility of improving the granularity of the Central Securities Depositary's (MKK) published free float figures.
FTSE Russell confirmed that Turkey is not on the Watch List, and its status as an Advanced Emerging Market remains unchanged.
