Gaza Death Toll Surpasses 57,000 as Israel’s Assault Continues

Gaza: At least 57,012 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's ongoing war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported Wednesday. A statement revealed that 142 bodies were brought to hospitals in the past 24 hours, with 487 individuals injured, bringing the total number of injuries to 134,592 amid the Israeli offensive.

According to Anadolu Agency, many victims remain trapped under debris and on roads, as rescuers face challenges in reaching them. The ministry further clarified that 223 deceased individuals have been added to the registry following verification of their data.

Israel renewed its attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18, resulting in 6,454 deaths and 22,551 injuries since then, which disrupted a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement established in January.

In November of the previous year, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is confronting a genocide case at the International Court of Justice concerning its actions in the region.
