Washington: The Gulf Cooperation Council: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) announced on Sunday that it is considering a response to Iranian missile and drone attacks that have targeted several of its member states. The bloc emphasized that it would take all necessary measures to maintain its security and stability.

According to Anadolu Agency, the GCC issued a statement following an emergency virtual ministerial meeting, where it condemned the attacks on the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait. The council described these attacks as violations of sovereignty and international law.

The GCC highlighted the indivisibility of the security of its member states, emphasizing that an attack on one member is a direct threat to all, as per the joint defense agreement. The council affirmed that member states have the right to respond in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter. It also called for an immediate cessation of the attacks and urged the UN Security Council to take decisive action to prevent further escalation.
