Kyiv:Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Germany has extended a new support package to Ukraine valued at approximately $1.46 billion, following discussions with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
According to Anadolu Agency, the package encompasses military weapons and assistance for Ukraine's energy sector, particularly in preparation for the upcoming winter months. Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of air defense and energy support in the current climate.
The Ukrainian president also revealed that Ukraine and Germany have formalized 15 agreements and documents, primarily focusing on security cooperation, defense production, procurement, and joint projects within Ukraine. The total valuation of these agreements exceeds £8.5 billion. Additionally, a separate accord aims to enhance collaboration on countering drone threats.
Chancellor Merz made an unexpected visit to Kyiv on Sunday morning, conveying a message of reliability and support to Ukraine.
