Medvedev Warns of Space Warfare Over Rassvet Satellite Network

Moscow:The deputy head of Russia's Security Council has issued a stark warning about potential "full-scale space warfare" if Russia's new Rassvet satellite network is blocked at Ukraine's request.

According to Anadolu Agency, Dmitry Medvedev emphasized the risks of such actions on Telegram, noting the importance of mutual courtesy in the crowded realm of space. He hinted at the vulnerability of American low-orbit Starlink satellites if tensions escalate.

The warning follows a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who revealed he had asked US President Donald Trump to impose sanctions on Russian and Chinese companies involved in creating a competitor to Starlink. Zelenskyy expressed concerns that China's assistance could help the Rassvet network become operational soon, enhancing the precision of Russian airstrikes amidst the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
