Accra: Ghana's Defense Minister Edward Omane Boamah, Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, and six others were killed in a military helicopter crash on Wednesday, the chief of staff said.

According to Anadolu Agency, the president and government of Ghana extended their condolences and sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives in the crash. Chief of Staff Julius Debrah announced that all flags would fly at half mast until further notice, expressing the nation's grief and respect for the deceased comrades and servicemen.

The Ghanaian army reported that a Z9 military helicopter belonging to the Air Force took off from the capital, Accra, heading towards Obuasi. The helicopter went off radar, leading to the tragic incident.
