Gold Prices Decline Amid Heightened US-Iran Tensions

Stockholm: Gold Prices Fell After President Trump's Remarks: Gold prices decreased on Thursday, concluding a four-day upward trend, after US President Donald Trump indicated a more aggressive military approach towards Iran.

According to Anadolu Agency, spot gold experienced a 2.7% drop, settling at $4,631.25 per ounce by 0810 GMT, after reaching a peak of $4,800 earlier in the day. Similarly, US gold futures saw a decline of 3.1%, falling to $4,664.15 per ounce.

The price reduction followed investor reactions to President Trump's statements about intensifying military actions against Iran over the next 'two to three weeks.' He reiterated the US's stance on preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, emphasizing a significant escalation in military efforts. Trump stated, 'We're going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks,' which marked a notable departure from previous comments suggesting a potential US military withdrawal from Iran under specific conditions.

Additionally, other precious metals faced significant downturns, with silver plummeting 4.8% to $71.49 per ounce. The markets remained acutely responsive to the evolving discourse surrounding the Iran conflict, prompting investors to re-evaluate the geopolitical landscape and the demand for safe-haven assets.
