Tel aviv: Israel declared that Hamas made 'unacceptable' changes to a Qatari proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. "The changes that Hamas is seeking to make in the Qatari proposal were conveyed to us last night and are unacceptable to Israel," stated Netanyahu's office.

According to Anadolu Agency, in response to the situation, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has directed the acceptance of proximity talks and continuation of contacts for the return of hostages based on the original Qatari proposal that Israel has agreed to. The negotiation team is set to leave for Qatar on Sunday to hold talks.

Hamas announced on Friday it had submitted its response to mediators after internal consultations with Palestinian factions and forces. The group described their response as 'positive' and expressed readiness to enter negotiations on implementing the proposal.

Estimates from Tel Aviv indicate that 50 hostages are held, with 20 captive in Gaza. Reports from Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media sources highlight that over 10,400 Palestinians are detained in Israeli prisons, facing torture, starvation, and medical neglect, leading to numerous deaths.

Despite global calls for a ceasefire, Israel's military actions in Gaza have resulted in over 57,300 Palestinian deaths, predominantly women and children, since October 2023. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes in Gaza.

Israel also confronts a genocide case at the International Court of Justice related to its actions in Gaza.
