Gaza: The Palestinian group Hamas on Wednesday categorically rejected US President Donald Trump's plan to "take over" Gaza after resettling Palestinians elsewhere, describing his remarks as "irresponsible."

According to Anadolu Agency, the Hamas group issued a statement denouncing Trump's comments as "aggressive to our people and cause" and stated that such plans would not contribute to stability in the region. Hamas emphasized that it would not permit "any state in the world to occupy our land or impose guardianship on our great Palestinian people."

Hamas called on the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to urgently convene and respond to Trump's "dangerous statements," urging them to take a firm position that upholds the national rights of the Palestinian people.

Izzat Al-Rishq, a member of the Hamas movement's political bureau, criticized Trump's remarks as a reflection of "confusion and a profound ignorance of the Palestinian cause and the region as a whole." He asserted that Gaza is not a territory for any external party to decide its fate, describing it as an integral part of occupied Palestinian land.

Al-Rishq further stated that any resolution must be based on ending the occupation and fulfilling the legitimate national rights of Palestinians, rather than relying on power or dominance. He accused Trump's remarks of reaffirming the United States' bias toward the Israeli occupation and its aggression against Palestinian rights.

Trump had stated late on Tuesday that the United States would "take over" the Gaza Strip after resettling Palestinians elsewhere under a redevelopment plan that he claimed could transform the enclave into "the Riviera of the Middle East."
