Riyadh:The Houthi group in Yemen has claimed responsibility for missile and drone strikes on Saudi Aramco facilities in Riyadh and the Khurais area, reportedly causing fires at these sites.
According to Anadolu Agency, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree announced in a video statement on social media platform X that the group executed two military operations targeting the oil giant. Saree asserted that both operations succeeded, with precise hits resulting in significant fires at the locations.
There has been no immediate response from Saudi authorities or Aramco regarding these claims. Saree stated that these operations were in retaliation for Saudi attacks, alleging that the kingdom had conducted 50 airstrikes and missile attacks over the previous 12 hours on various regions in Yemen, including Sanaa, Al-Jawf, Taiz, Amran, Hajjah, and Saada.
Saree further claimed that Saudi airstrikes and missile attacks have reached a total of 1,460 since the escalation began, though he did not specify when this period started. He warned of additional missile and drone attacks on Saudi sites and oil facilities, declaring that such operations would persist until the alleged Saudi attacks ceased and a blockade on Yemen was lifted.
This announcement came after Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi declared comprehensive military operations against the Houthis, aiming to reclaim the territory still under their control.
