Marib:The Houthi group has fired eight ballistic missiles targeting the northeastern city of Marib in Yemen, according to local authorities. This escalation adds to the ongoing conflict in the region.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Marib governorate released a statement on the US social media platform Facebook detailing the missile launch. Marib remains under the control of Yemen's internationally recognized government and is home to a significant population of internally displaced people.
Yemen has been embroiled in conflict since the Houthis seized control of Sanaa and other provinces in 2014. This action prompted a Saudi-led coalition to intervene in 2015 to support the internationally recognized government. The region has seen renewed fighting since July, with a truce established in 2022 now having collapsed.
