Iran: Iran announced on Wednesday that it is maintaining an ongoing exchange of messages with the United States, facilitated through Pakistani mediators. A high-level delegation from Pakistan is anticipated to visit Tehran imminently, as part of these diplomatic efforts.
According to Anadolu Agency, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei, in a news briefing referenced by the state news agency IRNA, confirmed the continuation of these message exchanges concerning negotiations with the US. He mentioned that since the Iranian delegation's return to Tehran on Sunday, several messages have been conveyed through the Pakistani intermediary.
Baghaei also indicated that Iran is poised to host a Pakistani delegation either on Wednesday or Thursday, following discussions that the Pakistani officials conducted with the United States. He emphasized that Iran's positions have been communicated and acknowledged.
Regarding the nuclear issue, Baghaei stated that discussions pertaining to uranium enrichment are ongoing and not a new development. He mentioned that there is scope for dialogue on the specifics of enrichment type and level, asserting that the Islamic Republic of Iran should have the capability to pursue enrichment based on its national requirements.
The recent direct talks between the US and Iran, which were held in Pakistan over the weekend with the aim of resolving their conflicts, concluded early on Sunday without reaching any agreement.
