Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney discussed bilateral relations and regional and global developments during a phone call on Wednesday, according to Turkish diplomatic sources. Erdogan highlighted the importance Trkiye places on enhancing its relationship with Canada, focusing on potential collaboration in sectors such as energy, the defense industry, and air transport.
According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan reiterated Trkiye's commitment to promoting regional peace and stability, noting shared interests with Canada on various issues. He extended an invitation to Carney for the NATO Ankara Summit and COP31, both of which will be hosted by Trkiye. Erdogan also expressed his desire for Carney to visit Trkiye officially before the conclusion of 2026.
