Ankara: US airstrikes on Iran since June 27 have resulted in the deaths of 53 individuals and injuries to 592 others, as reported by Iran's Health Ministry on Wednesday. This development comes amid rising tensions in the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, Hussein Kermanpour, the head of the ministry's public relations and information center, detailed that these casualties were recorded from June 27 up until 8:30 am (05:30 GMT) Wednesday. This information was shared in a statement on the US social media platform X. Kermanpour noted that out of those injured, 535 have been discharged following medical treatment, while 36 remain hospitalized and 21 received on-site treatment.

The US has launched a series of airstrikes across Iranian territory since the previous week. In retaliation, Tehran has conducted attacks on facilities and bases it claims are utilized by US military forces in various countries throughout the region.

This ongoing exchange of fire persists despite a framework agreement mediated by Pakistan and signed by the US and Iran in June. The agreement was intended to end the conflict that started in February and set the stage for a long-term peace accord.
