Iran Responds to Trump’s Threat with Assurance of Resilient Civilization

Tehran: Iran has firmly stated that "no threat can undermine" its "deeply rooted civilization" following a provocative warning from US President Donald Trump. The statement was made in response to Trump's declaration that he could annihilate a "whole civilization."

According to Anadolu Agency, the Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani took to the US social media platform X to assert that national security remains the government's top priority and that all affairs are being managed with diligence. This came after Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform: "A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again."

Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, also expressed confidence in the nation's resilience on X. He emphasized that the "power of a 'CIVILIZED' nation's culture, logic, and faith in its righteous cause" will prevail over mere force. He affirmed that a nation believing in the righteousness of its path would utilize all its resources to protect its rights and legitimate interests.

President Trump has imposed a deadline of 8 pm Eastern Time on Tuesday (0000GMT), threatening to destroy essential infrastructure in Iran if the country does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz and agree to a new deal. This ultimatum has heightened tensions in a region already on edge since Israel and the US initiated an offensive against Iran on February 28.

In retaliation, Tehran has carried out drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that host US military assets. These actions have resulted in casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
