Iran Sends Proposal on Ending War, Rejects Temporary Ceasefire: IRNA

Tehran: Iran has sent a proposal outlining its position on ending the war, rejecting a temporary ceasefire and calling instead for a permanent resolution, according to the state news agency IRNA. Iran conveyed its response to a US proposal through Pakistan after two weeks of high-level deliberations.

According to Anadolu Agency, the response consists of 10 points and rejects the idea of a temporary ceasefire, emphasizing the need for a lasting end to the war based on Iran's conditions. The proposal includes demands such as ending hostilities in the region, establishing a framework to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, reconstruction, and lifting sanctions.

The proposal emerged after recent developments in the western and central regions of Iran, including a reported US heliborne operation. On the US side, a White House official mentioned that a proposed 45-day ceasefire between the United States and Iran is 'one of many ideas' currently under discussion.

The official noted, 'The president has not signed off on it. Operation Epic Fury continues,' as reported by Axios reporter Barak Ravid. Ravid also mentioned that US President Donald Trump is expected to provide further details during a news conference in Washington at 1700 GMT on Thursday.
