Ankara: Israel claimed on Saturday that it struck a ballistic missile warehouse and weapons research and development sites in Iran amid the ongoing escalation. The military operation is part of a broader conflict that has intensified regional tensions.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army made the announcement through US social media company X, asserting that it also targeted an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) air defense site. The site reportedly stored missiles intended for use against aircraft, highlighting the strategic nature of the strikes.

The regional situation has become more volatile since the United States and Israel initiated a joint offensive on Iran on February 28. This offensive has resulted in the deaths of more than 1,340 individuals, including the then-Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. Tehran has responded to these attacks with its own drone and missile strikes, aiming at Israel and extending to Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that host US military installations.
