Ramallah:Israel Israeli authorities have decided to enforce a "comprehensive closure on the occupied West Bank" and shut border crossings into the area. This announcement was made by the official Palestinian news agency, Wafa, on Sunday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the closure is scheduled to last until Saturday, October 3. Israeli authorities have cited the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, also known as the Feast of Tabernacles, as the reason for the closure.

The measures involve increased military restrictions at checkpoints and barriers, which will limit Palestinians' movement and access to holy sites. On Sunday, Israeli forces increased restrictions around Ramallah and Al-Bireh, closing several roads and entrances and reportedly harassing Palestinians.

Entrances to Turmus Ayya, Aboud, Nabi Saleh, Atara, and Taybeh were also closed, and checkpoints were established in Yabroud, Ein Sinya, and Jaba' to search vehicles and check Palestinians' IDs, according to local sources.

These developments occur amid intensified Israeli military and occupier attacks in the occupied West Bank since the Gaza war began in October 2023. During this period, at least 1,206 Palestinians, including 254 children, have been killed, approximately 13,350 wounded, and over 24,600 arrested, based on Palestinian official figures.
